Trump’s Ukraine talks aim to divide Russia from China (Uncut) 02-22-2025
Trump’s Ukraine talks aim to divide Russia from China. Can he do it?
the one thing you never want to happen is you never want Russia and China uniting we United them it’s a shame the stupidity of what they done well I’m going to have to un unite them and I can think I can do that too I have to unite that the Donald Trump Administration is holding talks between the United States and Russia and he says he wants to end the war in Ukraine in fact US Secretary of State Marco Rubio even proposed that the US should partner with Russia geopolitically and economically the
credible opportunities that exists to partner with the Russians geopolitically on issues of common interest and frankly economically so what is happening here well the very simple answer is that this is all about China the Trump Administration is trying to divide Russia from China in order to isolate China to weaken and stabilize China the United States sees China as the number one threat to its dominance this has been stated very clearly by top officials in the current Trump Administration and in the previous Joe
Biden Administration that the this is the single greatest challenge this nation has ever faced we have never faced a near-peer adversary with the pros is such a comprehensive challenge whether the China is today I openly warn the American people that from my my unique Vantage Point as an official who saw more intelligence than anyone else I assessed that China China was Far and Away our top national security threat China is the only country with both the intent to reshape the international order and increasingly the economic
diplomatic military and technological power to do it in fact Trump himself said he’s going to try to divide Russia and China in an interview at Tucker Carlson in October 2024 Trump said it was a shame and it was stupid that the US had pushed China and Russia together and he said he’s going to try to un unite them as I say we are a nation in Decline we are a nation in very serious Decline and look at what these stupid people have done they’ve allowed Russia China Iran North Korea and others to get together in a group
this is possible to think when I was a young guy I loved I always loved the whole thing the concept of the history and all of the things that can happen the one thing and I had a professor at the Wharton School of Finance but we had history classes also he said the one thing you never want to happen is you never want Russia and China uniting we United them because of the oil we United them Biden United them it’s a shame the stupidity of what they done well I’m going to have to un unite them and I can
think I can do that too I have to unite that but early on I’ve read and you’ve learned you never want Russia and CH and they’re natural enemies because Russia has massive land and China needs it they’re a natural enemy and we’ve allowed them become to get together it’s such a dangerous thing another thing another thing that we’re doing is we’re losing the dollar as the standard because of these people that are so if we lose the dollar as the standard that’s like losing a war and it’ll never happen with me there’s no
way that will happen with me note how at the end of those comments there Trump warned about the threat to the dominance of the US dollar this is why Trump has threatened 100% tariffs on bricks countries and on other Nations that refuse to use the dollar in their International Trade Trump recognizes that D dollarization is happening and he recognizes in general that the US Empire is weakening its Global dominance is declining so what Trump is trying to do is he’s trying to strengthen the US Empire by dividing and conquering us
adversaries what Trump is looking for is not peace this is not about peace this is a strategy to try to Main maintain us Imperial dominance and the strategy has been debated openly in the western media with major foreign policy oriented media Outlets asking if Trump can split China and Russia now I personally do not think this strategy will be successful I’ll discuss later why Russia’s partnership with China is very important to Russia and how the United States does not have much to offer Russia whereas China is
the world’s dominant economy the world’s dominant manufacturing power and China’s becoming more influential over time whereas the US is clearly in Decline but before I get to that issue I want to talk more about the Trump administration’s attempt to try to divide China and Russia The Wall Street Journal wrote openly that Washington’s Embrace of Putin aims to drive a wedge between Moscow and Beijing the Western press has referred to this strategy as a reverse Nixon referring to the former US president Richard Nixon who was very
similar to Trump in many ways both are right-wing Republicans who use kind of populist rhetoric and Nixon traveled to China in 1972 and he normalized relations with the People’s Republic of China exploiting the sinos Soviet split that happened in the 1960s and trying to exacerbate the tensions between China and the former Soviet Union which ended up being an important factor in the decline and the weakening of the USSR in the 1980s and the eventual overthrow of the Soviet Union in 1991 the strategy is also being referred
to as a reverse Kissinger because Nixon’s National Security advisor Henry Kissinger took a secret trip to Beijing in 1971 as part of the US strategy to normalize relations with China to further divide China in the former USSR in fact during Trump’s first Administration this was the strategy he wanted to pursue and The Daily Beast even reported that Kissinger had advised Trump that he should try to divide Russia from China but ironically it was the Russia gate conspiracy pushed by the Democrats absurdly claiming that Trump
was a Putin puppet and all of that nonsense that ironically prevented Trump from pursuing this kerian strategy of trying to woo Russia to isolate China but here we are today during the second Trump Administration and Trump has selected a series of neoconservatives and warhawks to oversee his foreign policy including the arch neocon Marco Rubio as Secretary of State including the neocon Mike Waltz as National Security adviser and another neoconservative Warhawk Pete hegseth as his defense secretary and all three of
these figures are extreme China Hawks who have pushed for an aggressive policy against China this is why Trump sent Secretary of State Rubio to Saudi Arabia in February to participate in talks with Russia and Rubio said there are quote incredible opportunities that exist to partner with the Russians geopolitically end quote so they’re not just calling for reducing tensions with Russia they want to be allied with Russia against China that’s the strategy identifying the EXT ordinary opportunities that
exists should this conflict come to a acceptable end the credible opportunities that exists to partner with the Russians geopolitically on issues of common interest and frankly economically on issues that hopefully will be good for the world and will also improve our relations in the long term between these two important countries now in Marco Rubio made those comments saying the US wants to partner with Russia a lot of people were surprised but honestly I was not that surprised because if you listen into the
right-wing Maga movement in the Republican party people around Trump for years they have been saying this their world view is that China is the biggest threat to the United States this is actually bipartisan Democrats and Republicans say that but especially for the Maga Republicans they see China not only as a threat to us dominance but a threat to capitalism because China has a socialist system and is governed by a Communist party they see China as a threat to Western so-called judeo-christian civilization because
China is an atheist country they of course has a have a racist view of China seeing China as you know Asiatic hordes threatening white westerners and if you listen to Fox News or any other conservative media Outlets they have been saying this for years as an example here are some clips from the show that Tucker Carlson had on Fox News this was the most popular right-wing news show in the US and constantly Tucker Carlson a close Ally of Trump would repeat the same refrain he said we should be allied
with Russia against China Russia is not America’s main enemy obviously no sane person thinks it is our main enemy of course is China and the United States ought to be in a relationship with Russia aligned against China to the extent that we canest threat to this country is not Vladimir Putin that’s ludicrous the biggest threat obviously is China if Russia ever joined forces with China American global hegemony its power would end instantly you’d have the world’s largest land mass and largest natural gas reserves allied with the
world’s largest population and world’s largest economy so a Russia China access would be not just more powerful than the United States but much more powerful it would have the scale to control a lot of the world’s economy and trade routs and raw materials it could project military force that posturing side we actually don’t have the power to stop if Russia and China ever got together it would be a brand new world and the United States would be greatly diminished most Americans agree that would be bad in
fact back on his show in Fox News Carlson invited on Marco Rubio who’s now Trump’s Secretary of State and Rubio constantly fear mongered about China and said China is the biggest so-called threat to the US and called for an even more aggressive policy to try to weaken and isolate China well China is clearly a threat to our economy if nothing else and becoming more threatening what can our Congress do about it Senator Marco Rubio is a republican representing the State of Florida and he joins us tonight
they are also undermining our technological base through something called China 20 made in China 2025 where they intend not just to supply in America but all countries on Earth and the West in automobiles and passenger aircraft and in Quantum Computing and artificial intelligence they’ve laid out the entire Industries and they’re slowly but surely carrying out this plan so this is a threat obviously not simply to our economy but to our predominance around the world to our power and to our values in fact Marco
Rubio made a very revealing comment in 2024 in a senate Hearing in which he fear mongered about China this is last year a few months before he became Secretary of State and in this hearing he claimed that China wants the war in Ukraine to continue because he said the more that the US wages this proxy war in Ukraine the less time and money the US has to focus on trying to weaken China the Chinese see great benefit in Ukraine as well because they view it as the more time and money we spend there the less
time and money and focus we have on them that was such a revealing comment because it shows that the Trump Administration doesn’t really care about peace in Ukraine what they want to try to do is focus all of the resources of the US EMP Empire on weakening China and they don’t see Russia as a serious threat in that same Senate Hearing in 2024 Rubio noted that China wants to rewrite the rules that the United States wrote to rule the world and that China sees the us as a declining power the Chinese they believe were an inevitable
Decline and that they rise is inevitable as well um like I said they don’t like the rules of the world as they believe were written by America and our allies and so they increasingly are taking it upon themselves at every opportunity to challenge them Rubio has been making comments like this for years these were not new comments back in a separate Senate Hearing in 2022 Rubio complained that China is trying to replace the United States as the most powerful country on Earth we often talk about China’s uh plans and
intentions behind closed doors but the fact of the matter is that their ultimate goal and what they’re trying to do is really not that that big a secret um they seek to displace the United States and to become the world’s most dominant economic industrial Technical and Military and geopolitical power that that’s their goal in that 2022 Senate hearing Rubio referred to China as the quote single greatest challenge this nation has ever faced end quote and he claimed that China is much more of a threat than the Soviet Union ever was
the intelligence Community I think at this point leaders on both sides of the AL have been pretty clear that the this is the single greatest challenge this nation has ever faced we have never faced a near-peer adversary with the poses such a comprehensive challenge where the China has today Soviet Union was a military and a geopolitical rival they were never an industrial technical or uh commercial rival China is all of that and more if you listen to Imperial strategists in Washington who are trying to maximize
the power of the US Empire the way that they see the situation is that Russia is a declining power it is not seriously a threat to us dominance but China is a rising power that is much much much more powerful than Russia to start China has 1.4 billion people Russia has around 140 million people that is China’s population is 10 times larger than Russia’s economically China has the world’s largest economy when you measure its GDP at purchasing power parity it represents around 19% of the entire world economy whereas the United States
is less than 15% of the world economy now Russia is a major economy but it’s only about 3.5% of the global economy that means that China’s economy is roughly six times larger than Russia’s economy Russia’s economy is similar in size to the economy of Indonesia or Brazil China is at a whole different level and when it comes to manufacturing production there is no comparison China is by far the world’s leading manufacturing power it represents 31% of global manufacturing value added the US is 16%
Russia is 1.8% so Russia’s manufacturing output is a bit under Mexico and a bit larger than that of Italy or France and when it comes to technology China is also the world’s leader if you read the documents produced by hawkish Western anti-china think tanks they all warn of China’s technological dominance for instance the Australian strategic policy Institute is a very hawkish anti-china think tank that is backed by the Australian military funded by the Australian government and by the US government and they churn out anti-china
reports and in one of their recent reports they warned that China is leading in 57 out of 64 critical Technologies roughly 90% of the world’s critical Technologies and in the past 20 years China has made enormous progress originally 20 years ago China was leading in just three out of 64 critical Technologies today China is leading in 57 out of 64 their report noted that China now produced es more scientific Publications it publishes more scientific articles in academic journals than any other country
it overtook the United States and engineers and scientists in China apply for more patents than any other country by far the United States has been in significant Decline and China also proposes a systemic challenge to us-led capitalism because China has a socialist system whereas the US has a neoliberal capitalist system which has clearly been in Decline with extreme and growing inequality and economic instability and political instability whereas China continues to grow at 5% per year and China is making enormous progress in
Advanced Technologies and Manufacturing we’ve seen this recently with Chinese companies like deep seek making massive breakthroughs in artificial intelligence technology so you know Russia Today has a capitalist system it’s not the former Soviet Union they’re not not trying to challenge us-led capitalism whereas China is providing an actual alternative Russia doesn’t provide an alternative China does which is why the US and especially oligarchs in Silicon Valley and on Wall Street they see China as a
major threat because China is the only country on Earth that actually has Alternatives competitors to Big Tech corporations in Silicon Valley if you travel around the world most of the world uses Google and Facebook and Instagram and YouTube and Gmail China’s the only large country that actually has an alternative it has its own tech companies that are challenging us monopolies which is why the US government is trying to ban them it’s why the US is trying to ban Tik Tok it tried to ban Huawei and put sanctions
and restrictions on Huawei it is now trying to ban deep seek the Chinese AI company so this is why the United States sees China as such a big threat to its Global dominance I’m not trying to say that Russia is weak and insignificant that’s not what I’m saying Russia is a major military power as we’ve seen in Ukraine Russia has essentially defeated NATO and the fact that the United States did not even invite Ukraine to the talks between Russia and the US is a sign that this was not a war simply between Russia
and Ukraine it was a war between Russia and NATO led by the United States so Trump says yeah we’re going to cut out the middleman and have direct talks between Russia and the US so clearly Russia is a major military power as I mentioned Russia is a significant economic power it is a major producer of some of the most important primary Commodities in the world oil gas many critical minerals military technology weapons but being realistic China is significantly more influential and significantly more powerful than Russia
which is why the US is trying to divide Russia from China in fact back in 1997 the influential us Imperial strategist Zev binski who was the former US National Security adviser like Kissinger he published a book in 1997 called the Grand chessboard in which he outlined scenarios for the US Empire to maintain its Global unipolar dominance and in this book which is now nearly 30 years old he warned quote the most dangerous scenario would be a grand Coalition of China Russia and perhaps Iran an anti-hegemonic Coalition United not by
ideology but by complimentary grievances end quote and this is exactly what has happened in the past few decades the US Empire has pushed China Russia and Iran together and China Russia and Iran are members of bricks and Bricks continues to grow every single year it now represents 55% of the global population and 42% of world GDP measure to purchasing power parity this is why Trump is threatening bricks members with 100% tariffs and trying to destroy bricks but it’s not just bricks China Russia and Iran are
also members of the Shanghai cooperation organization which is focused on security and stability in EUR Asia this is why Trump said in his interview with Tucker Carlson in October 2024 that it was a shame and he said it was stupid that the US had pushed together Russia China Iran and North Korea and he said he wants to try to divide those countries he said that he thinks that he can un unite China and Russia this is what he’s trying to do now and this is a Viewpoint that is shared by all of the top level officials
in the Trump Administration so for instance in January at the Senate confirmation hearing for Donald Trump’s pick to be CIA director John Ratcliffe another neoconservative he referred to China as the greatest so-called threat to US National Security and he emphasized that the CIA under both Republicans and Democrats in Trump’s first term and the Biden Administration the CIA has been focused on trying to weaken China but much more has to be done because our adversaries and one in particular that I will discuss Now
understand understand that the nation who wins the race of emerging Technologies of today will dominate the World of Tomorrow which brings me to the need for the CIA to continue and increase in intensity the focus on the threats posed by China and its ruling Chinese Communist party as dni I dramatically increased the intelligence community’s resources devoted to China I openly warned the American people that from my unique Vantage Point as an official who saw more intelligence than anyone else I
assess that China China was Far and Away our top national security threat president Trump has been an incredible leader on this issue and it is encouraging that a bipartisan consensus has emerged in recent years the recent creation of the cia’s China Mission Center is is an example of the good work that must continue in fact in 20121 the CIA launched a new China Mission Center which is the only Mission CER Center at the CIA that is focused on one specific country and of course we all know that the CIA has a long history of organizing
and backing coups around the world and meddling in Internal Affairs of countries around the world and trying to destabilize elected foreign governments which has done dozens of times so this CIA Mission Center is dedicated to trying to destabilize China and it’s trying to weaken the Communist Party of China in fact the CIA announced announced this on its own official website back in 2021 in this press release the CIA director William Burns said quote the most important geopolitical threat we face in the 21st century is an
increasingly adversarial Chinese government end quote now of course that was Joe Biden’s CIA director William Burns but Trump CIA director John Ratcliffe has exactly the same policy and in his Senate confirmation Hearing in January he congratulated and praised the William Burn CIA and the Biden Administration for the work it did trying to counter and weak in China and he said that the Trump Administration is going to continue this policy this is completely bipartisan it’s not just the Democrats it’s not just the Republicans
it is all politicians in Washington are focused on trying to weaken China because China is the only country powerful enough to challenge us Imperial dominance the global dominance of the US Empire this was stated very clearly in a speech that Biden’s Secretary of State Anthony blinkin gave in 20122 even as President Putin’s War continues we will remain focused on the most serious long-term challenge to the international order and that’s posed by the People’s Republic of China China is the only country with
both the intent to reshape the international order and increasingly the economic diplomatic military and technological power to do it if you go back to the first Trump Administration the message was exactly the same this is what Trump’s CIA director turn Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said at a historic speech he delivered at the Richard Nixon Library in 2020 he picked the Nixon library because he was sending a message that it had been a mistake for Nixon to go to China in 1972 and try to normalize
relations with China and in this speech Pompeo basically said that the US government is going to try to overthrow the Communist Party of China and overthrow its independent government and try to do to China what the US did to the former Soviet Union and Russia in the 1990s all of this explains why Donald Trump is constantly fear-mongering about China and his favorite strategy is to scapegoat China he points to China to try to justify his very aggressive foreign policy so for instance during his inauguration speech
Trump said that the us is going to take over the Panama Canal a blatant Act of colonialism and how did he try to justify this he claimed falsely that China is supposedly operating the Panama Canal and above all China is operating the Panama Canal and we didn’t give it to China we gave it to Panama and we’re taking it back Secretary of State Marco Rubio said the exact same thing in an interview that he did did with the conservative talk show host Megan Kelly she asked him why the Trump Administration wants to
control the pan canal and he claimed that China is controlling it which is not true but again this is the US strategy they point to China to try to justify their colonialist policies and the way that Trump and Marco Rubio see the world is that the US has an imperial sphere of influence and they need to reassert their Imperial control over Latin America over the Western Hemisphere that’s why they’re threatening Greenland it’s why they’re threatening the Panama Canal it’s why they’re threatening Colombia and Mexico
and Canada and other countries in Latin America this is why they’re invoking the colonialist Monroe Doctrine a 22-year-old colonial Doctrine and when it comes to Europe the Trump administration’s message is basically that Europe is not the US sphere of influence they’re no longer concerned with Europe and they’re telling Europe Russia is your problem we don’t care and if you listen to the speech that Trump’s vice president JD Vance gave at the Munich security conference he angered a lot of people in Europe because he
criticized Europe for instance he criticized Germany for de-industrializing he didn’t mention the role of the United States in de-industrializing Germany for instance the destruction of the nordstream pipeline or for instance the fact that the US has been pressuring Germany to import much more expensive liquefied natural gas from the United States States rather than taking pipeline gas which is cheaper and better for the environment that was coming previously from Russia but of course nordstream was
blown up well JD Vance didn’t mention the role of the US in subordinating Europe in preventing Europe from having its own independent foreign policy but in that same speech at the Munich security conference JD Vance criticized Europe for its close relations with China and he told Europe that they should cut their relations with China so this shows the very imperialist foreign policy of the Trump Administration now JD Vance tries to portray himself as a populist and an isolationist but he is also a China Hawk like everyone else in
the Trump Administration they’re all vehemently anti-china in fact the former Chief of Staff of Donald Trump’s National Security Council during his first term Alexander gray he summarized JD Vance’s worldview and he says that Advance supports an aggressive approach toward China and does not want the US to retreat from the world stage Al together instead Trump’s former Chief of Staff of his National Security Council said that JD Vance’s strategy quote is about making hard choices with limited resources and devoting our resources to
what is an existential threat with China JD Vance is not abdicating us Global Leadership he’s not for stepping back from the US being a muscular power on the world stage and Ukraine’s actually a good example of this because Trump obviously does not care at all about the Ukrainian people it was the United States that pushed Ukraine into this proxy war but then Trump simply blames Ukraine he doesn’t mention the role of the US in backing a coup in Ukraine in 2014 in pushing Ukraine further and further into this proxy war with Russia
now of course the Trump Administration said says it was the Biden Administration that did that but they’re leading the US government you can’t just ignore what the previous administration did you are representing the United States and the US is responsible for this war but Trump wants to erase all that history and what is Trump doing now he’s imposing policies on Ukraine that even mainstream media outlets in the west are referring to as economic colonialism this is the language being used by the British newspaper the
telegraph which is a right-wing newspaper very close to the conservative party they’re not in any way a left-wing newspaper but they’re referring to Trump’s strategy in Ukraine as economic colonialism the telegraph got access to the text of a deal that the Trump Administration is trying to impose on Ukraine Trump is demanding that Ukraine pay the United States $500 billion dollar worth of its resources despite the fact that you know the US gave over $100 billion to Ukraine which is a lot of money I’m not denying that at all the
US was fueling this war Europe was fueling this war but it’s nowhere close to 500 billion it’s over around 100 maybe at the most 200 billion but Trump wants to be paid back 500 billion and in order to do that what does he want the language of Trump’s agreement he’s trying to impose on Ukraine is that the US wants quote mineral resources oil and gas resources ports other infrastructure end quote the US will take 50% of recurring revenues received by Ukraine from extraction of resources and 50% of
the financial value of all new licenses issued to third parties for the future monetization of resources the us will have control over all future licenses and will be given the right of first refusal on the purchase of exportable minerals the us will acquire near total control over most of Ukraine’s commodity and resource economy I’m reading here this from this report in the telegraph so Trump is not concerned about peace he’s certainly not against war and Empire he’s trying to massively expand
the US Empire he says that he wants to expand the territory of the United States the United States will once again consider itself a growing Nation one that increases our wealth expands our territory builds our cities raises our expectations and Carries our flag into new and beautiful Horizons and we will pursue our Manifest Destiny into the Stars he wants to colonize Greenland and Gaza and the Panama Canal he’s threatening Canada and Mexico he is through and through a Hardline imperialist but when it comes to Russia
Trump says look Ukraine is not in the US Imperial sphere of influence Ukraine is Europe’s problem we will let Europe deal with Russia he’s saying that the US wants to focus on China which is why he’s trying to at the very least improve relations with Russia in order to focus on the new Cold War on China and it’s not just Trump who wants to do this in fact right-wing leaders across Europe have been saying the same so for instance in France the right-wing leader Marine Le Pen has also called for Europe
to improve impr its relations with Russia in order to isolate China and it’s not just Trump it’s not just Marine Le Pen if you listen to what right-wing leaders in many of these countries are saying they all say we want to isolate China because they see China as a threat to capitalism as a threat to White eurocentric Christian civilization as they see it because many of these people are white nationalists and they’re very racist and they see China as you know an AS atic atheist threat to the white West
they see the world in this kind of racist civilizational clash and they think that they have to save Western Civilization against Chinese communism and the strategy they’re trying to pursue now is to divide China and Russia so this brings me to the question that I’ll conclude with today which is that will they be successful well of course it’s impossible to predict but honestly I do not think that it’s likely in the short term now maybe in the medium to the long term it all depends on what happens in Russia
now while Vladimir Putin remains president I do not think the strategy will be successful because when Putin came into Power he originally was brought in by the West especially by the United States to replace Boris yelton who was a US puppet essentially but he was very incompetent and he was an alcoholic and he was not able to accomplish everything that the US wanted so they brought in Putin because they thought that Putin would be a much more competent manager of Russian Affairs and they thought that Putin would help to
integrate Russia into the West in fact US President George W bush you know who invaded Iraq a war criminal he famously recalled meeting Putin when the West was trying to woo Russia they allowed Russia to join the G7 it became the G8 and Bush famously said that when he met Putin he looked into his eyes and he saw his soul can we trust Russia I’m not going to answer answer to that I could answer I could ask the very same question uh I’ll answer the question I looked the man in the eye I found it to be very
straightforward and trustworthy we had a very good dialogue I was able to um get a sense of his soul a man deeply committed to his country and the best interests of his country and that’s the beginning of a very constructive relationship um I wouldn’t have been invited him to my Ranch if I didn’t trust him and originally Putin did want Russia to be integrated with the West Putin was an anti-communist he was very Pro capitalist and he did try to however Putin was a nationalist he is a nationalist and he recognized that the
West would not accept Russia as an equal the United States only would accept Russia being integrated into the West as a puppet as a subordinate not as an equal and this led to Putin giving his famous speech at the Munich security conference in 2007 in which he condemned us unipolarity and he said that the US was expanding NATO to the East and trying to surround Russia to weaken Russia to dominate the world and this moment in 2007 was a major shift and it became clear to the us-led West that Russia would not allow them to
subordinate it that Russia wanted to become a powerful independent country and relations continued to sour from then on and then you had several other events including of course the US invasion of Iraq in 2003 which Russia was against you had the us-led NATO war in Libya in 2011 which originally Russia and also China had not vetoed in the UN Security Council because the West lied to them NATO lied to them claiming that it was going to be a limited operation a defensive operation but in fact NATO
used it as an excuse to overthrow the Lian government and to kill the Libyan leader mamad Gaddafi and this angered Russia and China and this also led to a deterioration of relations between the west and Russia and then of course you have the us-backed coup in Ukraine in 2014 which over through Ukraine’s democratically elected president vikor yanukovich who tried to maintain geopolitical neutrality and then the US put helped to put in power a pro-western oligarch the billionaire Petro penko who pledged that Ukraine would join NATO and
then the proxy war against Russia started and the US put sanctions the West put sanctions on Russia and the situation continued to get worse and worse but meanwhile throughout this time China and Russia grew closer and closer together and they have a very complimentary relationship not only politically they share a lot of similar views when it comes to challenging the us-led west and and Global dominance of the West they want to create a more multi-polar world in which the global South which represents the global
majority has an equal say and they’re of course part of bricks and the Shanghai cooperation organization but it’s not just that economically China and Russia have a very complimentary relationship China as I already established has the world’s largest economy and it’s the world’s manufacturing superpower Russia has all of the natural resources that any country could ever need so they have a complimentary relationship there but Russia is also a major military power it’s ahead in certain military
technology and it has shared some of that with China so it’s not just about getting access to Russia’s resources and China’s Advanced manufacturing they they complement each other in many ways the United States doesn’t really offer Russia that much what Trump can offer Russia is one sanctions relief and of course Russia would like the sanctions to be relieved because they’ve done a lot of damage to the Russian economy however they’ve also made the Russian economy more independent more self-sufficient and they have deepened
Russia’s economic relations with Asia not only with China but also with India and turkey and other countries that are in bricks with Iran so more and more Russia doesn’t need the West economically it would still like to trade with Europe it would like to sell oil and gas to Europe so sanctions relief of course would be welcomed in Moscow but it’s not a deal breaker I mean that’s not why they’re not going to cut off their relations with China on behalf of the United States just for sanctions relief of course another thing
the Trump Administration could offer Russia is security guarantees and that’s something that that Russia definitely wants the whole reason that we’re seeing this proxy war in Ukraine is because of the expansion of NATO because after the overthrow of the Soviet Union even before the Soviet Union was overthrown when the former USSR allowed Germany to be reunified the West made a deal and told the former USSR that NATO would not expand 1 in East they lied NATO continued to expand adding more than a
dozen new members NATO continued to move up to Russia’s borders creating military bases on Russia’s borders the Baltic states which were part of the Soviet Union on Russia’s borders join NATO and then the George Bush Administration famously pledged that Ukraine and Georgia would become members of NATO which angered Russia they see Ukraine as a major threat given that when the former Soviet Union was invaded when Russia was invaded including by the Third Reich during World War Two they invaded through Ukraine going into
Russia back when they were part of the Soviet Union from Russia’s perspective this is an existential security threat and the fact that the US refused to sign security guarantees and say that Ukraine would not become part of NATO is what caused this proxy war in the first place now that the Trump Administration is saying that they’ll give written security guarantees but from Russia’s perspective how can they trust the United States look what the Trump Administration did with Iran the Obama Administration signed the Iran nuclear
deal the Iran nuclear deal officially known as jcpoa was written into international law including with the UN Security Council resolution but then Trump came in he violated international law he tore up the jcpoa and he reimposed sanctions on Iran so why would Russia accept security guarantees from the US when they know that Trump can leave office and another president can come to power and then completely do a 180 like Trump did with the Iran nuclear deal Russia has learned the hard way over decades Putin himself has learned
the hard way that the United States cannot be trusted the West overall cannot be trusted look what the United States did to Native Americans signing agreements with them and then violating every agreement and ing their land look what the US did to former allies like Saddam Hussein in Iraq who had been an ally of the us against Iran during the Iran Iraq war when the US gave Saddam Hussein weapons to fight against Iran and then of course later the US invades Iraq two times there are so many examples throughout history of the US
betraying people and governments and countries that it makes agreements with so Russia knows that the US cannot be trusted now I I will be clear clear here there are some people in the Russian government I don’t think Putin himself but there are people around in the Russian government who are attracted by this offer of trying to have this Grand bargain of making some kind of alliance with the US and Europe especially if some of the right-wing and far-right parties in Europe can come to power I’ve
heard from that even from some people in China who warn that in the Russian government not Putin himself but there are people who are very suspicious of China and more sympathetic to the West however as long as Putin remains president in the short term in the near future I do not think the strategy will be successful I could be wrong but I think that there is now there are so many incentives for Russia to continue with its deep partnership with China and with bricks and the United States simply
does not have a lot that it can offer Russia whereas Russia and China have a lot in common but of course we will see how things ultimately turn out I don’t like to make predictions I try to focus on helping people to understand what’s happening in the world today not predicting what’s going to happen five or 10 years in the future and we’re living in a time with so many changes happening in the world it’s a time of great uncertainty so I’m definitely not going to try to make big predictions but
what I can tell you is that what the Trump Administration is doing is not motivated by peace it’s not motivated by an opposition to Empire what they’re trying to do is trying to save the US Empire to try to preserve us dominance by dividing and conquering by dividing their main adversaries by trying to do what the NX Administration did in the 1970s in Reverse trying to divide Russia and China to try to bring Russia over back into the West in order to try to eventually destabilize China which is
the only country powerful enough to actually challenge the global dominance of the US Empire which in the unipolar era in the 9s was a global dictatorship the US Empire was an authoritarian regime globally no country on Earth could challenge the dominance of the United States any country that tried to challenge the US was invaded sanctions were imposed on them they faced a color Revolution a CIA backed coup that was the unipolar order and that unipolar world has ended we’re now in a multi-polar world but what the Trump
Administration is trying to do is trying to divide that multi-polar world trying to reimpose its Imperial sphere of influence and it’s trying to focus on weakening China and basically if I have to summarize US foreign policy you’re not going to understand all of the intricacies and all of the complexities but you can understand 90% of US foreign policy if you understand that almost everything is about trying to weaken China period that is the number one and number two and number three and number
four number five goal of US foreign policy it is to weaken and destabilize China and that’s true regardless of who the US president is on that note I’m going to conclude I am Ben Norton the editor-in-chief of geopolitical economy report please like And subscribe please share this I will be back soon thanks for joining me today
